On the 13th July, European Technology Platforms (ETPs) ‘Food for Life’ jointly published with the ETP ‘Plants for the Future’ and TP ‘Organics’ a policy brief summarising their four main priority areas for Research and Development (R&D) in primary production and consumption. This executive summary report will be followed by a more exhaustive report.
The four key priorities/recommendations include:
- Creating an environmental performance toolbox allowing farmers to make the best management decisions
- Smartly reducing pesticide use
- Improving consumer knowledge and choice regarding healthy and sustainable diets
- Diversified farming systems for diverse diets
