2nd Food 2030 High Level Event entitled “Research and Innovation for Food and Nutrition Security – Transforming our food systems”. 14-15 June, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

The event
The overarching goal of the event, taking place during the Bulgarian Presidency, was to increase the impact of research and innovation (R&I) for the whole food chain by engaging a wide diversity of actors to build a shared and inclusive vision and provide input to strategic long-term Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) related R&I developments at the EU level.

The event revolved around identifying the most effective routes to transform and future-proof the European food system to ensure FNS and a more sustainable way forward. Food 2030 takes on a food system approach linking land with sea and producers with consumers, addressing all four priority areas: Nutrition for healthy and sustainable diets, Climate and environmental sustainability, Circularity and resource efficiency, Innovation and empowering communities.
