The way food is produced and how it affects our health, wellbeing and the environment are important aspects of the food system, which plays a central role in the bioeconomy. That is why Lithuania wants to explore how Research and Innovation (R&I) can contribute to a more future-proof food system with a FIT4FOOD2030 Policy Lab.

The main national stakeholders involved in the Lithuanian Policy Lab are policy makers (Ministries of: Agriculture, Health, Environment and Economy), representatives from R&I like universities (University of Health Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology, Aleksandras Stulginskis University), the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry, Entrepreneurs and Consumers. A main focus of the Lithuanian Policy Lab is the creation of a national and regional Food System Network – A platform that will work on an innovative and unique Lithuanian R&I food system policy.
