Project Description

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) Initiative is represented by Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna (UNIBO). Founded in 1088, UNIBO is a large, multidisciplinary university with 33 Departments, about 85.000 students and 1.500 PhD candidates. Strongly committed to research and innovation, it is one of the most active universities in European and international R&I projects and initiatives. As for the agro-food sector, UNIBO is part of the Board of Directors of the National Technological Cluster on Agrifood CLAN and, at EU level, successfully participated in over 80 EU funded projects (FP7 & H2020) and in relevant initiatives such as PRIMA, BIC Consortium of Biobased Industry JU-, HDHL and FACCE JPIs, EIP AGRI, ETP Ocean, BLUEMED, and EUSAIR.

In the context of the FIT4FOOD2030, UNIBO represents the PRIMA Initiative and will thus be a first base towards an exchange with global players in the Food, Nutrition Security domain, with particular focus on the Mediterranean area. UNIBO participates in several project tasks and notably in activities on food policies and governance analysis, food system transformation and training and education design.
