A new report titled Who makes food policy in England? A map of government actors and activitiesthe first of its kind has identified how and in which government deparments British food policy is shaped and implemented in England, with the aim of developing more coherent food system interventions.

The author, Dr Kelly Parsons, who was part of the first FIT4FOOD2030 webinar series, found that 16 government departments from Transport to International Trade to Environemtn, Food & Rural Affairs departments. The report provides information for the first essential step in understanding how food policy is shaped by spot opportunties and levers for change.  It is envisioned that this report will provide a model for other countries and jurisdictions to understand the same mapping process.
